Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have wrapped up a swift operation, arresting three males over an alleged spree of arsons and attempted arsons that targeted nightclubs and businesses in the city’s CBD earlier this month - and it turns out these boys were recruited via the Signal app by a cartel based overseas.
In what Victoria Police are calling a clean sweep, the arrests mean someone has now been charged in relation to every single Operation Eclipse arson offence in the CBD, plus a handful more in the Prahran area. Not too shabby for a couple weeks’ work.
