Just after 8:30am today, detectives from the Armed Crime Squad, riding shotgun with Operation Eclipse, executed a search warrant at a residential address in Essendon and took a 20-year-old local into custody.
Police will allege this bloke is no street-level foot soldier. They say he’s high-ranking inside an organised criminal syndicate with links to an offshore leader Kazem "Kaz" Hamad, the kind of middleman who dishes out the jobs via encrypted apps while staying one layer removed from the actual violence.
