A 17-year-old with alleged ties to the Middle Eastern syndicate known as "The Commission" has been charged with a string of serious drug offences after police executed a search warrant at his home on Friday.

The kid wasn’t charged over the 19 alleged extortion notes left at storefronts across Melbourne and regional Victoria, the ones ordering business owners to “call the Commission”, but detectives have linked him to the campaign. Those notes form part of the broader probe into the tobacco wars and the intimidation rackets still being run from offshore.
