The tobacco wars have been one of the most fire-riddled, bloody and unforgiving gangland conflicts of my time. I lived through multiple gangland wars in Melbourne. Although I wasn't involved as much as I am now, I was sitting on the periphery and watching as a younger man, with immense interest. I knew the names I saw on TV in the 00s from people I had met in real life. What I didn't realise is how connected to "The Life" they truly were.
